Thanks for the comments on taking babies. Out of interest are you both sterilising because you don't have any washing up liquid? I haven't sterilised anything since the little one was 6 months.

Thanks Mazcabs on the food advice. I don't use jars but have tried using them this week to get him use to it if I had to feed them to him when we were away! Think I might bring some anyway just in case. I was just concerned over the amount of salt that might be in the food but I guess if I stick to buffet items we should be fine.

I'm getting so excited now. Just waiting for the passports!

we took our 8m old baby, and the only problem we had was finding baby food (unless you went to auchan). at home, we usually feed our babies chopped up versions of our own food, but as we eat alot of pasta/rice its quite easy baby food. however in the parks, its mainly burgers/chips and that doesnt really mash up. so i would take enough ready made baby food in jars, to cover at least one meal a day, if not two, just incase.

I think the only time we had no problem feeding baby, was when we went to the character tea at plaza gardens, as they had scrambled egg, and lots of cakes, so nice, easy, soft things for her to eat

As for sterilising, we never bothered with that, at 8m a good wash in hot water should be enough to clean a bottle sufficiently. However, we did have to go to reception to request a kettle, as they dont automatically have them in the rooms. took over a day for staff to understand what we wanted, and to get them to bring one to the room. thankfully i had thought to take ready made formula and just wanted the kettle to heat it, in the meantime dd got used to cold milk, somewhat grudgingly

Thanks for letting me know where the scrambled eggs are - my little ones favourite!
Think the luggage could handle nappies for two children and jars for 5 days.

  • Have booked a four day/three night stay at Disneyland Hotel in January - can't wait!!! I have booked the half board premium option - can anyone recommend the restaurants I should book. I understand that one of them has a Disney Princess dinner? Also, what do you think the chance is of getting a free room upgrade when we check in?!! I always love a freebie!!

Oooh we're going in january too. 4th - 14th. We're staying at the cheyenne. Stayed there last year too and loved it.

It cost around £1650 for 11 days, 10 nights for 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 3) including half board standard. We thought that was a really good deal! Not sure about the room upgrade. I would have thought in the disneyland hotel you'd be hard-pushed as it's so popular. Although going in january, some of the rooms might be going spare, so you never know...
  • Wow lucky you going for 11 days!!! Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Floxxie, I only sterilised the teats not the bottles, more out of habit rather than lack of washing up liquid, but also as was once told that the teats can be a bit of a breeding ground and so like to make sure they are really clean.

Just remebered after reading flea72's comments that we did find a few places do sandwiches on the childrens menu (ham and cheese) and you can also get other sandwiches from a couple of the shops on Main Street.
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.
  • me and 7 friends are going in january 09, and as we are all students with student cards (from various university's) we were wondering if anyone knew if we could get student discount for park passes?
or even a website with good discounted prices?

also... if we went to the park on a sunday, would it be possible to get round both parks? we're all over 18 so want to do the "bigger" rides and meet a few characters!

    thanks!

We are looking at booking to go in April half term next year.
    We have 3 children.
Has anybody got any recommendations on who to book through?
Or is it just the same to book direct with disney?

    Thanks for any advice.
  • Hello there!!

I’m new to this but you have all made me very excited for my trip to Disney. :D

Lynn09 if you want to go by the tunnel you can book everything by the eurostar site or just train and hotel seperate. if booking hotel seperate use the disney site or expedia.
If you want to fly look at expedia for everything.

My BF and I are going 5th till 8th January and hopefully staying at the Dream Castle. We are travelling by train all the way and going to get 2 day 2 park tickets. I found out that it was cheaper to book all the trains via Eurostar, we are travelling from Manchester so getting a through fare ticket has been worth it (or it will be when we actually book it) Our train will cost £168 (using Virgin trains to london and changing in Lille). Virgin alone was £126 just to get to london from manchester. We are changing in Lille because i saw the price of the direct train and i nearly fell out of my seat with utter shock it was something like £450 one way .

I think we will be booking the hotel through expedia or travel republic. Hopefully staying in the dream castle. What is this hotel like? is it good for young couples? as it's just the two of us and a week before my 25th i thought this could be a good bet, still disney-y but a bit more adult. What does anyone think?

Oh and does anyone know if it's quite easy to change trains in Lille?

[FONT=&quot]Thanks if anyone can help xxx :D:D
