Am I entitled to my money back?

Options
Hi all

I booked an ultrasound appointment over the phone at my local private clinic (for an 8 week scan).

I was told at the time they needed my card details for a deposit (which I gave them) but that I could cancel 48 hours before my appointment.

My appointment is Saturday but my partner's work commitments have changed meaning he can make the NHS one instead. I called to cancel 72 hours in advance but they told me I can't have my money back (£120).

Where do I stand?

There's a difference between being able to cancel and being able to cancel with a refund of your deposit. Were you actually told that you would get your deposit back when cancelling?

I read it as the OP's partner couldn't make the NHS one so they also booked a private one, now their partner can make the NHS one, they no longer need the private one.

OP - Does this clinic have a website? Do you have any proof of the terms on cancellations?

Panic over!! They have refunded me as a good will gesture!! Winning!!!

[and yes, Olliesdad was right, my partner couldn't make the NHS one so we also booked a private one, now my partner can make the NHS one, we no longer need the private one. He would have been very upset if I had gone to a scan without him especially as this is our first baby]
