CPM Appeal 28 days

Hi all,
I have searched through many many posts on this forum but cannot see an answer to my question, hence this post.

I received a windscreen ticket from CPM, I waited for the PCN and sent the template reply rejecting the fine. I sent this rejection template (the one on this forum) via registered post 15 days after the PCN was received.

I have now received a letter from CPM acknowledging my letter but stating they are unable to process the appeal as it has been submitted outside of the required 28 day period.

What should I do now?
There is no POPLA number on the latest correspondence.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

So you waited for the postal notice to keeper, then sent the appeal 15 days after receipt? If yes then this sounds like a typical modus operandi ... try and trick the appellant into thinking the appeal time scale starts from the date of the windscreen ticket.

But can you confirm the PPC name please? CPM are not in the BPA AOS list nor the IPC AOS list.

  • Thanks for such a quick reply!
CPM is the label on the letters and underneath, it says UK Car Park Management ltd. Their address is Lancing BN15 5BR.
  • Should I send them a copy of the proof of postage and the original template letter or contact POPLA or do something else?

OK. They are BPA AOS members, so POPLA will apply. http://www.britishparking.co.uk/aos-members

Email a complaint to the BPA that one of their AOS members is in breach of the code of practice, by trying to deny a keeper a legitimate right of appeal. (Email addresses are in the NEWBIES thread). Copy that email to UK CPM.
  • Thanks so much for the help and advice bod1467!!
