my dad was with Hastings direct last year and his policy was up and renewed it with Churchill as was cheaper ( and he wanted a toy dog :p ) anyways he asked hastings for a copy of his NCD and they have now said as he ended his policy with them he needs to pay then £25 or else legal action will be taken
can they demand money for ending a policy ?

Did he instruct them to stop any auto renewal arrangement before the renewal was due?

Meaning that he subsequently had to cancel the new policy.

Or did he cancel before his old policy ended,?

If no, then he should formally dispute the charge and ask for it to be itemised.

Then take it from their reply.
