can i remove baxi fire but keep back boiler ?

we have a very old baxi fire which is so ugly to look at and i've had enough and would like to do away wth it but behind it is the baxi back boiler for our central heating .
can i remove fire but without damaging the boiler so i can still use the boiler as can't afford to replace that (and need it to be working) .... i am thinking of replacing fire and surround with one of those nice all in one fire surrounds you can get with a fire just for show ... as we don't use it anyway . can any one offer advise on how to do this .. or if its dangerous to do ? has anyone done something similar ?

No you need the front....we ended up getting a new boiler and new firefront cause it was VERY old and boggin....it had shelves that lit up and everything!!! It will cost quite abit.

We looked into getting the boiler moved and a different make but it ended up just as expensive as changing it all.
For you to change the boiler and fire front you won't get much change from 3K, we were lucky enough to know someone who worked with them and he managed to get ours for half that price just about....there is no way we could have afforded the proper price.
