the only thing i am doing wrong is lying about my age

Yes, lying to your bank, lying to eBay, when will the lying stop?
Ok, im 15, but my age doesn't effect everything, i beleive im very grown up for my age,

Obviously not or you wouldn't be lying. You need to take a look at yourself and grow up. Moaning because people have told you to stop lying and to grow up just proves your immaturity

the other alternative is not to ask us for advice and not to listen to it - but you'll end up regretting it.

One of the things you'll learn in life (and are learning obviously) is that sometimes you wont like the answers people give you, but you have to run with it. In the "business" world rules and proceedures are there to be followed, and this following these that get you places, not wheeler dealing as asking how to avoid paying your way.
I never missed a payment :T , I paid off all my credit cards :T , I paid of all my loans :T , i have a work mobile :T - but am now "medium" credit risk

Just don't lie to your employer or you will soon enough become unemployable.
Don't lie about your age, qualifications or anything else for that matter.

16 in 4 months? you do realise you can't leave school/education until June 2008 don't you?
Statutory school leaving date is the date when your child is allowed, by law, to leave secondary school. This is the last Friday in June, of the school year in which s/he reaches the age of 16.

IMHO if you are so grown up you wouldn't have even had to start this thread in the first place.

You say you were going to pay and were only asking for advice on what would happen if you didn't pay.....sounds to me like you were thinking about not paying, thats not very grown up IMO. You sign up for a service (albeit fraudulently) you shouldn't be thinking about what will happen if you don't pay for that service.

  • Inx: I know it may seem like everyone's getting at you but TBH mate, they offer very good advice. Now i don't mean to sound condescending, but at your age you should realise that the advice of people who have been there and done it should be respected and thought about seriously. :-)

People here are of a good nature and don't want to see you getting into scrapes by deviating from the straight and narrow! And any insinuation of dodgy practices will be met with criticism and finger wagging!

Best of luck with your selling on eBay, and for the future!

Thank You, i really do understand that the advice given is genuine, and your only telling me because it's the right thing, i wont argue with that.

It has come to my attention now that eBay may be a much too much for me to handle, it's a lot harder when you have to keep pretending, i get criticized alot and i really dislike it... Maybe it's time to throw in the towel, but we will see what happens.

Only a part time job, not full time. In fact you can get a saturday or sunday job now.

Wait until you are in the world of work, as you are learning you will get a lot of criticism.

  • I have never run up an unpaid debt with eBay, and whilst I don't advise trying to cheat £40 isn't a lot of money. It's not considerable enough, I would imagine, for any action to be taken against you at a serious level.

If you truly feel the fees are unfair, you are far better to address the situation head on. Whilst you've come under a lot of criticism here, a lot of it because you're young, you need to remember that running away won't help. Don't forget about eBay - turn round, and explain why you are not happy with the fees. If they then don't respond to your liking, you at least have some ground of your own.

If eBay have cancelled a listing and still charged you for it they have been unjustly enriched at your expense.
