Just curious, why do you need a 10 megapixel camera?

Would it not be better to get a lower megapixel count (5-7megapixels) but a better camera In that price range.

Agreed, don't fall for the numbers game used by marketing! The lens is much more important than mega-pixels.

  • Very true. My 5mp Panasonic FZ5 is 2 1/2 years old and still takes a fantastic photo. I don't think i'd want more mega-pixels as the photos would only take up more memory card space.

Think more about what you need.. do you want a small compact camera? Do you want a certain brand, do you want video facilities, do you want a long zoom lens or manual controls? Mega-pixels are a poor measurement for a camera's quality.

    and again

10 mega pixels is pointless for your likely needs and on your budget, your PC cannot display all those pixels so the photo can be viewed as a whole and your printer can't print 10 million pixels.

Go for a lower resolution, save money, get a quality brand.

The FujiF31 has had some amazing reviews and can be bought for £126.95 from Amazon:

It's a 6MP with a Fuji-Super CCD sensor that will give much better quality pictures than a 10MP on a smaller sensor, especially in lower light. As someone who has spent hundreds on a digital SLR and lenses, this is the one I'd buy.

Then there's something wrong with the camera. I've got a panasonic 7.2 megapixel camera and the picture quality is amazing and I'd say in many ways better than all of the film cameras I've had. If you're finding over 7 million pixel resolution to not be a good enough quality, something is seriously wrong elsewhere.
