Working Tax Credits and Tax Credits - Gift Aid

Afternoon,
Do you know that if you pay any money to a charity or to your church and you use gift aid this can help reduce your top line when you confirm your annual salary in your annual review.
example: salary £18,000 (Tax credit is as per current tax laws)
If you pay a 10% tithe to your church for example this would reduce to £16,200 (your tax credits would increase). Even if you pay a few pound each month to a charity this can help reduce your top line salary through your annual review.
Through this I was able to claim back that last couple of years as I had declared my top line figure without gift aid donations. I got over £1000. It was a nice surprise!!
Just phone up the helpline and go through the figures with the very helpful staff, 48 hours later you will know how it has affected you in back payment and also increased monthly credits.
This may help you claim your hard earned money back from the government while also increasing your current entitlement within your monthly tax credits.
Hope this helps someone.:j
Pass it on.
