cancelled insurance

im hoping someone on this forum can help me out.
im due to get married in september if next year, however when looking into wedding insurance i remembered around 4 years ago having my home insurance cancelled by the provider as i had made to relativly small claims within around a 6 month period, 1 i believe was a repair for accidental damage to a laptop, and the second was a replacement games console neither multi million pound settlements. the insurance was provide through the council and the providers name escapes me, i had full intention of challenging the decision at the time but as time past i must have forgotten about it.
its now came up when trying to buy a policy for the wedding and seems to be a stumbling block.
so to my question,
is there a way to challenge the decision now being that long in the past and can the cancellation be removed from record?
if not are there any specialist insurers that would deal with someone in my situation?
thanks in advance.

Assuming you did have your policy cancelled, then it will remain on your record for ever.
See if a local broker (not Swinton) can help you get cover.0
