will any sink and any toilet fit any bathroom

in terms of wanting to change them, could i go to any shop, buy a sink and toilet i like, then get someone to fit them? or are there different fittings and its best to go supply and fit?

also would it bea plumber id need?

Most basins and toilets are similar, although they do vary from manufacturer.

One thing that can be a problem is the height of the waste outlet on the toilet, if it is lower on the new one you might have to seat the toilet on a piece of wood to pack it up a little.

Fitting a basin does not seem too difficult-

If you go down the supply and fit route it will be more expensive, but if you buy the stuff yourself and get similar stuff to what you have now there should not be a problem!

Good afternoon: The Bathroom Manufacturers' Association has produced a series of generic training guides...here is a link to sanitaryware (basins and toilets) http://www.bathroom-academy.co.uk/pdf/Sanitaryware.pdf Please keep in mind that the physical layout of your bathroom eg. location of waste/soil pipe, hot and cold supplies, type of floor (concrete, suspended) etc will dictate the type of basin and toilet you can fit.
