Really old Nationwide PPI

Many years ago I had a Nationwide morgage with PPI worth £1000's. I tried to claim back (used the letter from here) but failed. I should never have been sold it as I didn't know there was alternatives and had a medical condition. They said no. I didn't go to the Ombudsman. A PPI company tried again but failed (I don't know how hard they tried). Is this lost money? Another company approached me today saying they could try (attached to previous company). Help???

I tried to claim back (used the letter from here) but failed.

    How did it fail?
(most MPPI complaints do fail given the greater importance of the debt)
I should never have been sold it as I didn't know there was alternatives and had a medical condition.

You were not required to be made aware of alternatives. Did the medical condition prevent claiming in other areas of the policy?
They said no. I didn't go to the Ombudsman.

After 6 months, it is over.
A PPI company tried again but failed (I don't know how hard they tried).

You already complained. A PPI company uses the same complaint process you used. So, nationwide would have referred them to your original complaint response. You were lucky you were not billed by the PPI company for time wasting.

Its game over. You tried, you failed, you left it too late.
