Quote for some drainage work (prior to selling house?)

We had a drain CCTV survey at the request of the buyer of our house and their mortgage company after the survey.
The man who did the survey said the drains looked ok to him, but his office did the report and came back with this
7. Quotation and Specification of Repairs
1) Survey section 1 MH1 ‐ MH2
Reline drain with a 3mm Polyester liner, Open up laterals with robotic cutter
2) Survey section 3 FWG ‐ MH3
Insert a 100mm x 600mm localised patch liner to repair displaced joint
3) Survey section 4 SVP ‐ MH3
Remove roots with mechanical cutter, Reline drain with a 3mm Polyester liner
Cost Items @ £1990.00 + VAT

The survey came back with a couple of open joints, joints displaced and one with a tiny root tap in it.
Does this seem a reasonable cost for the work please? Obviously bothered about this as we are selling....

Oh ant two of the three were graded "do immediately" by the company....
Should I get a second opinion too?
  • You’d need to check if there Mortgage Company would accept quotes/estimates from other parties? If they don’t you could be wasting your time as they may not lend full amount it would then be buyer’s decision if they wanted to sump up there own monies?

If your in London its not an uncommon tactic in some areas prices increase if you drag out the completion date etc a few extra mths you can be on a nice earner before you even move in…

£2000... depends on how much you want to sell? and how far you are down the line.

£2000 these days is probably 3 or 4 months mortgage payments to most people.
