I actually have 2, a reward account and an ultimate reward account. So I get £5 for each of those.0

I've been trying to get to the bottom of this as I've been told that as I didn't pass the requirements at the time of opening my Clarity account years ago - but now do - I'm not entitled to the fiver reward. I was also told that if you qualify on opening the only thing you need to do is spend 300 or more on the card each month - everything else is only relevant on the date you open the credit card.0 -

I had clarity credit card for years. I have just use the switch service to open a reward current account.
Will I get both the £5 in the current account and £5 credit to the clarity credit card if I spend £300 on cc and deposit £1000 in current account?0 -
Only £750 required now.
Do you know that from experience of paying in less than £1000 to the current account and receiving £5 into CC account?
I know the £750 is the required amount for the £5 in the current account but do the Clarity T&C not still mention £1000.
ETA:
I've just checked the T&C and they include,11.2 - To be eligible for the reward set out in condition 11.1, you must, at the time you enter into this agreement:-
(a) hold a Halifax current account and pay in £1,000 or more each month;
(b) use our switching service to move your current account to a Halifax Current Account and agree to pay in £1,000 or more each month;
(c) open or hold a Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account
I know it says "at the time you enter into this agreement" and doesn't say "and for every month that you also spend £300 on the Clarity card" but I haven't wanted to experiment and potentially miss out on £5 when it takes no more effort to pay in £1K as it does £750. Point (b) also suggests an ongoing £1K commitment.0 -

The T&Cs aren't clear:11. REWARD PAYMENT
11.1 - If you meet the requirements set out in condition 11.2, then for any statement period in which you:-
(a) make at least £300 of Purchases (once any Purchases refunded in that period have beend deducted);
(b) stay within your credit limit; and
(c) make your minimum monthly payment;
you will qualify for a £5 credit to your account in the following month. The credit will not be treated as a payment to your account under these conditions.
11.2 - To be eligible for the reward set out in condition 11.1, you must, at the time you enter into this agreement:-
(a) hold a Halifax current account and pay in £1,000 or more each month;
(b) use our switching service to move your current account to a Halifax Current Account and agree to pay in £1,000 or more each month;
(c) open or hold a Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account.
This suggests that if you met the requirements in 11.2 "at the time" you opened the Clarity account you will continue to get the reward every month you spend at least £300 on the card. No need to pay £1,000 (others say £750) in to a Halifax current account every month. No need to even continue holding one I guess.0 -
The T&Cs seem clear, you have to meet the criteria at the time you open the card account, if you open the current account after getting the card you don't qualify. However it wouldn't hurt to call and ask nicely once your switch is complete.
I get the reward on my Clarity but I didn't have a Halifax current account when I applied for the card, but had previously switched to the Reward Current Account. I still get the reward despite not having banked with them for years0 -

It does look as though they forgot to update their CC T&Cs when the current a/c T&Cs changed; I've just checked back and can see that I cut my payments from £1,000 to £750 in May 2013.0 -

Well, yes, the T&Cs are clear. But don't seem to match the experience of others.
Perhaps they're confusing the requirements to get the Clarity fiver with those to get the Rewards (current account) fiver.0 -

I tried this on the phone and got told the rewards version didn't exist any more, and so I couldn't have it. The website however disagrees but says you have to apply in branch. So I went in, the guy did a bit of digging (even called me back the next day) and said it is as I'd posted above - it's completely based on whether you qualify at the date of opening your Clarity. You can't qualify after, and you can't lose it. This fits with what the T&Cs seem to say.
Now, he also said he was feeding back that it was incredibly unclear. Whether or not Halifax's systems rigidly fit that reading of the T&Cs is also another matter.0
