I use the free Spotify service, but this afternoon the Amy Winehouse ad is playing after every single track and then nothing plays until I close and reopen the page.
Is anyone else having the same problem ?

Not when using adblocker in chrome (chromebook) no advers ever! I use the webplayer.0

They appear to have noticed the problem, as the Amy ad has gone and, after ads. the music now plays.
I don't have a Chromebook or even a mobile phone that does internet, so use my laptop and external speakers. I don't usually get many ads during the day, but the Amy one started at about 4pm. (I was quite impressed by my grandson's Chromebook, performance wise, but the screen is too small for me; 17" laptop)0 -
It may work the same using chrome on a laptop as long as you use the webplayer rather than the app.0
