Alternative to Royal Mail
Clairy
I am heartily sick of my letters going missing in the post. I send out an average of 25 per day, first class - and at times I send out over 500 in one go. A significant proportion don't reach their destination - and those are the ones I know about. I have had the letters checked by the post office in terms of their weight and postage, and they always say they are fine. I have even tried driving around and using different mail boxes - with little improvement.
The last straw has come today when a significant client refused to place any more business with me because - and I quote - "I didn't have the courtesy to send him a couple of copies of the magazine he advertised in". I did - I could even give you the date and postbox it was posted from. I am incandescent with rage.
I realise I am classed as a low user by the likes of TNT - I wonder whether any of you knew of an alternative? I run a parenting magazine so email isn't always possible, as most of my clients like to actually feel the magazine in their hands.
Thank you

I've heard good things about DHL
http://www.dhl.co.uk/
Perhaps you could give them a try? :j
Good luck!0 -
Don't use UK Mail - takes ages to be delivered (if ever)
We're now back to Royal Mail
I assume the envelopes are addressed correctly and clearly? We send out tons of mail every day and this is very rare...0 -
Does it really make much of a differnce who you use? Up here they all get delivered by royal mail anyway0

alot of companies use citylink...which are very good...I ordered a LCD tv at 1pm and it was here at 11am next day with citylink...:Dalso known as interlink...:D
Pls be nice to all MSer's
There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.
Tomorrow never come's as today is yesterday and tomorrow is today
MERRY CHRISTMAS FELLOW MSer's:xmastree:0 -
Sorry I can't be much help, but totally sympathise - we loose a sizable proportion of our mail as well through Royal Mail but can't afford to send everything out recorded delivery
What with the strike action *still* ongoing in our neck of the woods as well, we are thoroughly fed up, but we're held over a barrel as we don't spend several hundred thos a year on mail so not big enough for any of the other providers to bother with and as SCBK says, Royal Mail end up delivering it (or not) anyway. This country is going to hell in a handbag.... Do not feed the trolls please.0 -
If you are talking parcels then it depends if you have a regular number on a regular basis.
If you send lots of parcels regulary then call and get a quoate from City Link they are good but if you dont meet your quotes it can cost.
If you are talking to odd parcel then I use www.interparcel.net these are pretty cheap but ypou also get 5% discount on repeat usage. The actual courier behind these are UPS do the service is pretty great. Using the cheapest you need a printer to print the diapatch label. I have never had one of these parcels that have not got to the destination the next morning0 -
It's not parcels, it's A5 letters.
Frustratingly there doesn't seem to be a viable alternative, does there?
Don't even get me started on BT. How on earth are we supposed to run businesses without reliable mail and phone services? <grrr>
Thanks for the input everyone0
