Wonder if UK operators will be putting up prices before this comes into effect.0

This will be price rise for some! On our PAYG phones it's cheaper to call and send texts abroad in Europe than it is at home!0

This is being spun as good news for consumers by the EU. In fact they have ended net neutrality by the back door with this announcement. Now carriers will be allowed to provide "fast" and "slow" lanes for traffic depending on whether they are being paid by internet companies. So Facebook could pay Three to provide faster access to their site while other sites who were not able to pay would be stuck with slow access. This is terrible news

In the article: Prime Minister of the UK, David Cameron, says: "This deal is fantastic news for British consumers and shows that the UK, working with its partners, can deliver real change in Europe, bringing significant benefits for working people."
Reports in the past have implied that Britain was sticking up for its mobile networks and being an opponent of going too fast on this.0 -

I think the networks will put prices up, they took 500 million in roaming charges last year, they wont want to lose that
Look around.
Some have already introduced free roaming and other useful cheap options.
Low data users can pay 5 pence a megabyte, and people using more ought to be able to get by on €1 a day.
Call rates 3 or 8 pence a minute, or home bundles usable abroad, incoming calls under 10 pence a minute in most of the world.
This has already been going on for some time, and home rates don't seem to have hurtled upwards.0 -

I get what you are saying and I hope you are right, but the £500 million of less revenue hasnt taken effect yet0
