Credit check when letting for everyone

Hi all first post and just asking a question I can't find the answer to online.
Me and my girlfriend are looking to rent a house/flat with another couple of close friends. Would all 4 of us need a credit check? And would could happen if 3 pass and 1 doesn't? My girlfriend is worried she won't pass. Is it worth going to the bank to find out before hand?
Many thanks everyone!

It will vary by agent and LL. It's unlikely that the bank could give you any useful insight.

Your girlfriend can request her credit reports from credit reference agencies, to see what they read like. See: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/check-free-credit-report

But not all agents/LLs do checks with a credit reference agency.

The best plan would be to ask letting agents what their acceptance criteria is. By asking a few, you may find that some are more 'relaxed' than others.
