I was wondering if anybody is aware of any buildings insurance companies that offer policies with variable escape of water excess? I can't find anything that offers less than £250 so far.

Only in so far as some will have the same excess as the rest of the perils (other than Subsidence) which you can alter but not any where you can decide it independently to the main excess0

Seems to have all changed recently. I was always able to get a policy with this excess at the 50-100 quid mark.
250 is the best now.0 -
I'm guessing you've had an escape of water in the past0

I also found during my recent search for home insurance quotes that £250 was more or less standard, with many companies wanting much more. And thus far, I haven't had an escape of water claim.0
