Amazon Customer service - Best there is

Ordered a Jiayu S3 phone from amazon for £170 in mid May. Won't go in to massive detail as I've done this elsewhere already, but I opened a return straight after, then decided not to return it after talking to manufacturer.
At weekend I discovered it was riddled with malware but was past the return date. On sunday night I emailed amazon if they would be willing to accept a return still, no problem they said, even though some 40 odd days after purchase.
Left the item with a collect plus service at 5.30pm today, and by 7.09pm amazon had processed my refund and the £100 part that was paid for by gift vouchers is back in my amazon account.
First thing I'd ever had to send back to amazon

Top top service, I'm going to ensure all my future purchases are from there, even if they're more expensive. I'm glad I didn't order from gearbest in the end (they were £40 cheaper), they'd have laughed at me if I asked to return it.

There is no doubt that Amazon's CS is superb.

It's just a pity that other companies don't see their success and copy them in that aspect of their business.

I agree that Amazon are brilliant.
When a radio became faulty, 10 months after purchase, Amazon put through a refund immediately even before I returned the radio.
I too would pay a little more to use Amazon.

I bought 'used' Tefal Mince & Shred Express, which was actually unused, but the box had been damaged, at a very low price.

The item had never been unpacked, but on opening I found that the plastic hopper was damaged.

Amazon had no more reduced price 'used' stock, that was not a used return, so paid the full cost of a spare part from the manufacturer.

An acer monitor failed about 6 months. acer were happy to repair but wanted me to it up and send it to them. No way would they lend me anything - I wouldn't be able to use my PC for the 3-4 weeks they quoted.

Amazon shipped me a new one, and paid shipping to send the old one back to them.

Yes, consistently the best customer service around. In an earlier thread I said about a £500 Wacom tablet I bought that developed a minor fault after a few months. One phone call and 18 hours later a brand new one was delivered to my door and I was able to return the faulty one at my leisure (it was collected by courier at a time of my choice, for free).

Yesterday I had delivery of a can of expanding foam that had been bashed and the top broken. I clicked on the Return procedure on the website but was wary of returning it since the contents had leaked, so I phoned up and two minutes later the issue was resolved. Refund forthcoming and no need to return the faulty item.

It's also worth noting that every time I contact customer service the person on the other end is foreign, but I have no problem understanding them or them me. They are incredibly polite and every time so far my issue has been resolved immediately. Other companies take note.

I try to avoid them as they pay so little tax.

I write that on a day that young people have been hammered in today's budget. Is it right that big companies pay so little when youngsters are losing their student grants?

Amazon's working conditions also put me off.

Another vote for Amazon's CS here, various returns over the years all sorted with courtesy above and beyond what was expected. They've earned a real level of trust from me.

Aren't they just making use of a legal loop hole like many other big companies do?

It's the government who should be to blame for allowing it.

Yes it might be morally wrong on Amazons part but at the end of the day they're a business and it's all about the profits.
