Thanks. It's disappointing that their info is out of date.

The other thing about HELMS was the option to buy the feed-in tarrif, which cost £3800 iirc, or about £4200 with a 3 year finance deal they provide.

    Wut?

So, they sting you for over £12k for an install that probably costs less than half that, then if you want the FiT as well as the free leccy, they want another £4k?!!

People actually sign up to this bovine fecal matter?

Scary... if I wasn't so honest, I could make a fortune!!
4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.

I emailed HELMS a few days ago to complain but there has been no reply. I don't expect one either...

    A company to avoid.

I know you were, and I will do that. I tried calling them a few days ago but there was no answer. I think it speaks volumes that HELMS didn't even reply to my email, though.

having had my installation done in 2011 with a company from Glasgow (90m from me) there were a few problems with the install. I am not entirely sure if that company did the work or just sold leads to installers.

Anyway what I did learn was it would be preferable to use a well established local company. Perhaps a long standing well respected electrical contractor.
