If it's savings you want, rather than pensions, investments, etc then see the "Top Savings Accounts" link at the top of the page http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-accounts-best-interest?_ga=1.29102521.481306836.14016398520

If it is a question of maximising interest you might choose
1 Lloyds Club £5000 Also regular saver available
1 TSB CLassic Plus £2000
1 Nationwide Flexdirect £2500
I Santander123 £20000
3 x BOS £15000
2 x Tesco £6000
1 First Direct and 1 M&S to gain access to regular savers.
Remember to check pay in required/DDs etc so as to know how much to cycle round the accounts.

my partner is with Barclays I have set up nationwide direct acc for her .
if I get my partner to switch her main account Barclays to Santander then set up standing order from there to nationwide and back to Santander to keep both banks happy with the monthly requirements can I do that as my partner out of work.0 -
Tool here http://www.bankaccountsavings.co.uk/
Your partner could switch to Santander and move money from her Nationwide account to satisfy the paying in requirement.0 -
