Ah... so you haven't bought a holiday, you've bought some sort of voucher that can be redeemed for a holiday.

Then you may well have the right to cancel under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 as I do not believe that purchase is excluded.

Have a read of this section of MSE's Consumer Rights guide and get your cancellation to them in writing soon. Email is fine.

Thank you again, wealdroam. Yes it seems it is a voucher/ cert. I have emailed to cancel as well as phoned. It went down like a lead balloon, and I was asked for a reason. It seems the cancellations haven't authority to cancel as I had one cancelled previously and the manager will call tomorrow. I am also posting my cancellation request. However, I do not feel up to listening to more pressure from the manager.... Surely if I wish to cancel, I can?
2p or not 2p? That is the question!

Yes I believe you can cancel.

Of course the salesman, make no mistake, the person who calls tomorrow is a salesman, will try to convince you not to cancel... that's his job.

Sorry to be saying it, but if you can't cope with that, then you will lose your deposit.

Which company are we talking about?
    Is it https://www.1st4cruisingholidays.com?
Aka ICE Europe Limited trading as Our Holiday Centre (“ICE”) • Buckingham House East, 8 Buckingham Place, The Broadway, Stanmore, Middlesex, HA7 4EB

Remember, nothing in their T&Cs can overrule your statutory rights.
This means that even if they say you have agreed to a term that states you cannot cancel, then if the law says you can cancel then that term in their T&Cs cannot be enforced.

You have the correct address! They are just using a different name of company!

Agree with wealdroam you should be able to cancel, the fact that you cancelled on a previous occasion is irrelevant.

If you do want to go on a cruise I think you'd be better off to put some money aside on a monthly basis and register with one of the proper cruise specialist travel agents like Bolsover Cruise Club, they'll send you regular details of all the latest offers, if you can go last minute you can get some real bargains and they won't be ringing you up and pressure selling you!

I would also add the he was unduly pressured into buying it and he should tell the salesman not to call again.

Write a small sentence on a piece of paper, something like 'I do not want this voucher please refund my money and do not call me again' and keep looking and read it during the call, also limit the length of the call to 5 minutes.
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

Thank you all for your advice. I have just answered the telephone to the same person who called last night. After little discussion they have agreed to refund my deposit and remove my name from their list for future calls!
