Cancel road tax direct debit??
Hi, I've just sold my car and I have informed my Car Insurance company of this. So my question is, as I pay my road tax monthly by direct debit to the DVLA can I assume that it is ok for me to cancel this direct debit or do I have to wait for so long till the DVLA have received confirmation from the V5C form that I will be posting tomorrow that I no longer own the car?
Reason I'm asking is, as it will soon be the first of July when the next direct debit will be deducted.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I'd cancel the DD. The hassle trying to get July's payment back is not worth it. The tax will run out on 30th June but you don't have the car any more and it should have been taxed from 1st June by the new owners so go ahead and cancel.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

how about sorning it online , you cannot sell it with tax , the new owner taxes it with his part of the v5 , sorn = tax refund or stop of DD0
