Students want to live in the city centre or as close as possible to the University buildings
So Victoria park or along the Oxford road corridor would be a good place to start.
BTL really is a long term investment and keeping a property for 15/20/25 years should be your long term aim.

Yes, we are looking at Fallowfield and Victoria Park.

As for how long we would have it, it would be a pension investment so 10/15 years maximum.

My ex husband's family lived in Fallowfield - it was a bit of a dump then but I believe it's gone up in the world recently.

Well, it is student city and to be honest it is absolutely not somewhere I would choose to live, but for the purposes of a student let it is the place to buy in Manchester.

Luckily, when I was a student in Manchester, the course at the Polyaswas was based in Didsbury - which is still the only area of the city I'd care to live.

Typically students seeking private houses to rent in favour Fallowfield, Victoria Park area has a lot of private halls so the market and competition is rather different.

We bought our Fallowfield student property in the June and 10 weeks and over £30,000 later it was ready for the September arrival of students.
Old house which needed everything doing and is now a 6 bed property. ( After extension which cost even more money)
We will be putting advert on MSH in November and have students signed up before Xmas ( this is how quickly the good properties GO)

For occupancy from September 2016? With half rent retainer for July & August?

Would you mind if I picked your brain?

Are you an experienced student landlord or is this your first propety?

What rent/deposit do you charge (if that is not too rude a question)

What do you wish you had known before you started?

Was it onerous to get a license for above 5 beds?

Do you use a letting agent?

    What is MSH?

    Many thanks:D
