We are in the process of renting out our buy-to-let property. The buildings insurance is covered via the service charge so we only require landlords contents.
We have 2 new tenants, one of which is a Phd student and the other a professional.
I am struggling to find any insurance company that will provide contents insurance due to use having a mixed occupancy tenants.
Any advice?

I am surprised you are having issues, normally they just take the highest risk occupant and base the insurance on them.
Have you tried a local broker, other than swintons? Tried the bigger direct players like Direct Line etc?0 -

Does the professional know he will be liable for all the council tax - albeit with a 25% discount?
I digress, I have found alanboswell.com good brokers for BTL.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
