My rental property listed for rental(!)(?)

All,
Think this is just going to come down to the contract with the agency, or its just the usual tactics EA's employ, but I am keen to know.
I rent my property through an estate agent, 12 month fixed currently up to October. Yet, I see a lovely, familiar looking property for rent in their Windows yesterday.
I assume they are just touting my "lovely" property for other business (oh sorry sir, this one has gone) but would be keen to know the implications of this.
My property is basically drawing other sales in surely?
Thanks
Mr Not very concerned, as still getting rent paid

Drop them an email and ask them to stop advertising your property.
Is the agent otherwise OK?
* Letting agents: how should a landlord select or sack?0 -
Maybe a little cheeky extra dollar or two :P No only joking.
Was more wondering if this was standard practice, I suppose it sits with the "Job Agencies advertising jobs that exist".
Might try and see if I can get a viewing, then proverbial will hit the fan.
Yes, no other problems with agency or Tenant (Jinxed it now grr) so will probably just leave this alone.0 -
A previous agent did this with our property...
Their reasoning was that around 3 months before the end of tenancy they write to us to confirm we still wish to let the property,if this is the case some marketing then would commence as a coming soon type senario.
They then said they would write to the tenant to confirm their onward intention ....if they were intending to stay then the property would be removed from marketing and if they were planning on leaving the property would begin full marketing.
A strange situation that I never fully got my head around...hence the LA being our now previous LA!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

my agent does exactly the same. It's a large development and I think I got one of the better-presented 1-beds in it; they always use the photos of my flat to get enquiries. when you call them as a prospective tenant they tell you that they have say 3 or 4 1-beds on the market at the moment and will show you all; none will be the flat that you actually saw on the website.
I wouldn't worry.0
