I gather the broker and the solicitor are, and have been, doing as much as they can and are as frustrated as the clients.

I haven't put the lender as I don't want to jeopardise anything. I will suggest they get onto social media, as I know that has worked for me with other big companies.

Doesn't answer any the fundamental question as to what has the caused delays.

Something does not add up right.

What has your friend and the broker and unbelievably the Estate Agent been doing for 3 months and they are still requesting documents???

Not sure what you mean by that, Dave, if I may use your first name. My friends has been supplying the paperwork immediately when requested, the broker had AFAIK been contacting the mortgage company frequently. Not sure what the estate agent can do, though today I heard that they have given them a couple more weeks to complete which is really helpful. And the broker is looking at other companies.

    No it's not Leeds.

I suspect they are limited in their choice of mortgage by being classed as self-employed, though in regular work.

However as that hasn't changed since the first mortgage application it doesn't explain the tardiness of the decision.

Not the lenders problem that a property was bought off plan.

No lender should take 3 months, no Estate Agent usually waits more than 3 weeks and not doubting what you are sharing but doubting the detail of the situation.

And now they are looking at other options???

I had been thinking the same thing...

Clearly the OP's friends have found an even slower, more pedantic T crossing I dotting company than Leeds. But which company is it? (We all wonder with baited breath)

Everybody is pointing their finger at the Lender.

For all we know the poster's friend has not provided the lender with what they need to progress effectively.

They have actually supplied exactly what they've been asked for within 24 hours of any request being made. There has been no feedback on the documentation sent. What the mortgage company are asking for now is bank statements for the last three months, to go with the ones they asked for 3 months ago when the application was made. If there wasn't a bit of a rush now, one wonders whether in three months time they would ask for the next lot of bank statements.
  • Sounds a bit of a long time to me, not sure I'd have been that patient.

Getting a bad feeling about The Leeds here, people have stories to share? Obsessive about documents/details/spending??

I don't believe I indicated that it was the lender's problem, but if I did I apologise. However, they did know the situation when the application was made, including all the deadlines.
