EON Changes to Feed-In Tarrif Terms and Conditions

I have received a lovely brochure- but have no idea how to work out what the changes are, or mean.

Does anyone more switched on than me have an answer as to what change this may make to my payments?

Same here. I have written to complain and to ask for a schedule showing what has changed. That then poses the additional question of "why?"

I THINK it's today with the export tariff - I have no export meter, and have always had 50% payments for export as an arbitary figure.

But I'm not sure because it says 'if you have an export meter' and I don't.

From the EON contract. Deemed Export
This clause will only apply if you notify us that you want to receive payments for electricity exported to the
Electricity Network and do not have an Export Meter fitted
    .

Essentially, this is consistent with Ovo. If you in fact have an export meter and you want payment for your export from Eon then you will not qualify for 50% deemed export.

Correct but I thought that had always been in the t&c - not that I have gone back to the original yet.

Which ties in with my comment earlier on your thread re Ovo.

Simple rule is, if you want deeming, then don't go smart metering.

It will be down to the individual household to establish what their actual export is and whether it is beneficial to meter or deem.

For those of us with diverters, then deeming MAY be the way, but it will require number crunching and some forecasting of lifestyles?

This will be hidden within the T&Cs. Yes, this is fundamental.

And if they deliver a smart meter that turns out to be a dumb meter then you are similarly screwed if the dumb meter is capable of measuring export in a dumb way.

You do realise that they can put what they want in the revised t's & c's and it means didley squat, the only t's & c's that matter are the ones in your original contract, even if there is a clause that they can revise them in the original.

    Hi All

Thought it might help if I popped on with some information about the new version of the Terms and Conditions we've sent out recently. We've needed to send this to keep up to date with the current supplier guidance as per industry regulations. Some of the changes you've asked about are as follows. I've also added a couple of others that might be of interest but it's best to go through the entire document to make sure you're aware of anything that affects you.

The percentage paid for deemed export could change. It's set annually by the Secretary of State and may not necessarily always be 50% for solar and 75% for Hydro. Any changes are published no less than 1 month before the beginning of each FIT year (beginning 1 April).

All generators need to keep all documentation for at least one year.

Previously, our meter read window has been wrong. It should be 14 days before and 7 days after the read date.

Where we've an email address, we'll use this to let customers know any information we feel's important.

All FIT customers can have export meters. They don't have to have an installed capacity greater than 30 kW. Customers with a commissioned export meter, though, can't have deemed export payments.

Hope this helps but if anyone has particular concerns, I'd have a chat with our specialist FIT teams. They're available from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and between 8am and 4pm Saturdays. Contact details are on the paperwork sent and our website.

    Malc,
Any new or updated t's & c's are unenforceable, you can put what you like but they mean nothing. The only ones that matter are the ones that were in existence at the time the contract was formed, as my FiTs supplier found out to their detriment.

Leaving aside the point Tunnel makes I do think it is unacceptable to simply send a revised document of any sort to customers without also setting out the differences. I did read the booklet in its entirety but without digging out the original and doing the same could not spot anything obvious.

I have praised E.ON on here before about their operation of the FITs but this is not their finest moment.
