I ordered laminate from factory direct flooring on Friday which I was told would be delivered tomorrow. I emailed them first thing asking to cancel.and they've called to say its in van for delivery and return costs are £90.
They don't have a tracking number and delivery from them was only £21.
It would be cheaper for me to drive it back!
I said I knew I had 7 days to cancel and he said that only applied if it hadn't been despatched. Is this correct?

There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Almost exactly the same thing happened to me...
Ordered items online, cancelled order before delivery and wanted my money back.
They tried to deliver AFTER I cancelled (make sure you have proof for this), I refused to sign for it and said sorry to the driver (it wasnt his fault) and they got returned.
I had to take the company to court to get all my money back after they tried to keep some for something or other they just made up, but basically they cant take any money from you.
Note... this was a while back, things might have changed
EDIT. To add.. you have 7 days from when you actually have the goods to inspect, or a reasonable ammount of time... if it is from dispatch then they can just say that its on its way, it arrives on the 7th day and you have no rights, doesnt work that way.0 -
Thanks,
I've emailed again telling them not to deliverThere is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
Email again telling them that you will refuse the delivery should it arrive.0

I've wrote back saying I'm still cancelling, I wont accept delivery and I expect a full refund which I will pursue if necessary.(hope it's not).
I live in a block of flats so no access unless I let them in.
I paid with paypal so fairly confident I should get a full refund from them. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
Not 7 days, 14 days since the introduction of the CCRs last year.0

Their T&Cs mention that the customer has to pay for return delivery and that they charge a restocking fee. I think they're allowed to do both of those things.
But I'm not sure where the customer stands if the item hasn't been delivered.0
