Morning MessyMare, I certainly wish I'd been as sensible at your age. I'd recommend reading Edinburgher's diary as well. He's got a great approach to saving.

    Good luck with your plans.

    Best wishes Tilly x x

Hello! I did concentrated silliness from 15-23 :D I'm still trying to get my spending habits sorted out to be honest. I looked at Edinburgher's diary last night but forced myself to stop after a page and sleep! Thank you :)

    Hi MessyMare,

Thanks for posting the message to Cel about the survey sites, I'm going to go and sign up to a few of those as well.

Wishing you lots of luck and I look forward to seeing how you get on, you seem to have great goals.

    Runders

No problem! I'm now fully endorsing Prolific Academic, their studies are more interesting than your usual survey gubbins! I'll pop over and have a peruse of your diary tonight :

So, that was a long day! Clocked an hour and a half overtime to be paid out next month, have done a handful of surveys and got invited to a product test, which I'm quite looking forward to. Will update on Sunday to let you know how much extra I've earned this week.

I've been doing some research about other sim only plans, and have jotted everything down to help me haggle with Vodafone on Friday. Every other network gives me the amount of texts I want for a tenner, so I'm sure after ten years of being a pay monthly customer and making them a whole load of money, they can do me a deal. I'm not asking for a new phone, just a decent rate!

Also done some interesting budget experimentation :) will share that another day, two dogs to walk and some stuff to donate to the playgroup via my sister :)

    Hello again :)

Another hour overtime to add to the pot (time and a half, yummy) so next month should see quite a bit extra in the pot. Just been talking to DH and the first overpayment will be on the 22nd June, and will be equivalent to five months paying at the normal rate. Goodness, when you put it like that it doesn't half gee you on!

I've also done a few surveys, got some points in from my shopping and have been examining cashback apps, so we'll see what I can do with them to scrape back the shopping budget. Although let's face it, £250 is an astronomical amount for two people!

Very much looking forward to calling vodafone on Friday and trying to get something back for all the dosh I've given them over the years :)

Wow! 5 months worth would gee me on too! Well done you.It must make you feel great. I've gotten a bit obsessed with the overpayment calculators recently....must resist the urge to type in numbers

This is where I look all embarrassed! I've been spending circa £250 on food budgets and it's just me! So don't feel too bad. After the advice of the lovely people on here, I am going to cut mine back slowly round £50-£100 at a time. I'm trying out food planning and batch cooking,as I never had any plans and would just buy stuff as and when I wanted it.

Hope you are having a good evening.

Thank you Runders :) I just noticed you're in Norfolk too! I do love the overpayment calculator but I need to back away from it slowly. I am getting excited for making the overpayment! Sad life that I lead :D

Oh good spot! I hadn't noticed that. Hope you are enjoying the glorious weather today, I'm going to the Royal Norfolk Show tomorrow, so hope it continues.

Hello! I hope you enjoy it. I guess this is where I admit that I've never been, despite living in Norfolkshire all my life!

So, £2.20 earned extra today, whee, and some rather excellent if silly news. As the result of a miscalculation, my planned monthly op won't slash 12 years off the term- it will dock SEVENTEEN YEARS off our mortgage. Woop! I need to do some checking as to how long we can overpay this much before incurring fees (10% pa limit) but for now, I'm happy :) another hour of ot in the bag, although I actually did two and a half I'm only claiming for one. Don't ask.

It's DH first evening shift tonight, so I've cut down on electric- no tv on and just one lamp :) marvellously peaceful here. Hopefully we can cut that debt right down in no time!

Hope everyone reading this is staying safe in the heat :)

Hehe and this is where I admit it's the first time I've been after moving here 8 years ago! It was brilliant fun though.

Wow!!! That is indeed excellent news. Fingers crossed you are okay with the level of OP and can continue with it.

Thank you Runders :) glad you enjoyed the show! I know there will probably be some breaks in that level of OP but while we can, we should :) it's the nice thing about being teetotal, a non smoker and having no social life hehe, I can create the wiggle room in my budget :)

Wins for today - some more survey earnings, and cut my phone contract from £29 to £10.50 - that's more like it! my cruddy phone will do for now but the extra money saved will be put aside to get myself a decent second hand one from CEX. Oh and another 1.5 hours overtime in the kitty :)

Oh my goodness what a brilliant day I'm having! No particular reason either. It was a spendy day- I finally got some wedding photos printed for my friends in far off places, but got advantage card points and that was my only spend of the day. I have been outside all day, as it's DH first Saturday in work. It all feels a bit strange but I got a lot done, as well as did a whoooole lot of relaxing after the cruddy week I've had. I pretty much abandoned my to do list and did a ta da! list instead, I think I got the idea from one of the boards here. It's much less accusatory when I look at it and it reminds me that I do actually do a lot and I'm not a lazy cow :D

I've earned some pennies on surveys today and some supermarket cashback, and I have been turning my thoughts to Christmas. Whilst lounging outside in the blazing sunshine trying to look less like something dairy crest would deliver. I'm considering making little hamper type things in gift bags, but unsure how to make this come out cheaply as often when I do this I end up spending a whole lot more than I would have done on a bigger gift. Going to have a mooch over to the Christmas money saving board in a bit I think.

Oh and I weighed in today, have lost 3lb this week, woop woop :) only another 29 to go, haha!

    Have a lovely weekend :)

Well, I'm clocking out with this week's extra earnings. I had aimed for about £25 and I've reached £26.25 :) no ebay items sold but I did cash out with qu1dc0 so that's added considerably to that total. My ebay items have auto resisted and I have a couple of craft things to put on there that I know will sell, so I'm hoping for a bit more success there next week. Must get my butt into gear to get them listed.

I'm humming and harring about going out for lunch today. With DH now working funny shifts I really want to make sure that the time we spend together is quality time. I do have a 50% off food voucher for a place I like that he's never been, but at the same time, it's 2.5 weeks to payday and though all the bills etc are covered, do I really want to blow what's left on going out now, when I know I've got a night out later in the month? (Though to be fair I might blow that off as well, though I love the restaurant it is incredibly expensive when the night out is the week before payday).

Having said about quality time we may well spend some of that sat together watching the Tour :) the only sporting event I can convince myself to give a toss about!

Eta - back later with an updated mortgage total, which will still be a month out but better than nothing :)
