IVA question

I've been on my IVA since June 2012.

2 of my debts are with Halifax, an unsecured personal loan and credit card.

I have noticed as of late they are no longer on my credit file.

Plus I have had 4 silent phone calls from Rossendales.

These 2 debts were originally listed at the Insolvency Exchange, but when I wrote to them recently they did not respond.

If the debt has been sold on, would the new DCA know its under an IVA?

This is why I am wondering about the silent calls from Rossendales; I am fully aware that they are a notorious DCA to deal with and dont want the attending my address.

You should receive a statement every year (stating you have defaulted but we know you in an IVA) from each company you owed money to, even if the debt was sold on.

I have 4 debts with this IVA and I only receive statements from 1 debtor.

I have no idea where the Halifax debts have gone.
  • I wouldn't worry too much. My debts were sold on two or three times during the course of my IVA. Your IVA company will know who owns the debts as that's who they'll be making payments to. If you do get any contact from any debt collection agency (which it's unlikely you will) just refer them to your IVA provider who will put them straight.
Unsecured Debt at start of IVA in 2009 = £51,734 :(
Debt free as of March 2015!!!!:D:j:j:j:j
  • Who is your IVA provider ? they will have this information, if the IVA is ongoing they will be making payments to your creditors.

Debt Free Direct are my IVA provider.

I had 4 silent calls from Rossendales DCA.

Not heard from then since, but I had to change my phone number for a variety of reasons.

I have not had anything in writing from them though.

    Hi mumz2bee

It is very unlikely that the Rossendales calls are related to the Halifax debts in any way. Either way, until you receive written correspondence from them you should carry on as you are. Speak to DFD if you have any concerns that creditors are attempting to bypass the IVA.
