Has anyone here travelled alone on a Saga holiday? If you have could you share experience please?

Yes I have twice once to a city and the other time to a beach destination.
I have had no problems, there will be other people on their own and both reps were first class. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
Yes, I have travelled quite a few times with them on my own (but not very recently.) Many of the people were single because often their pricing structure means that you do not have to pay a single supplement.
I found that one holiday which was especially for singles was actually pretty hopeless! whilst the others varied from good to excellent- it kind of depends on the Saga rep.
Some of these were long haul (Malaysia, Cuba-all these excellent- involved a lot of travelling) a couple European and one an activity holiday staying in UK student hostel accommodation.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

A friend of mine recently went on a 'singles' escorted tour to South America with Saga.
She was full of praise (to the extent we are looking at using Saga for a different escorted tour) about the organisation of the tour which involved quite a lot of travelling.0 -
We've done a couple of long haul tours with Saga. There were single people on each of them.
Everyone mixes in and makes friends.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

We've booked our first ever holiday with Saga next February. It's a cruise to see (hopefully) the Northern Lights. While a bit pricey, it seems to offer exactly what we are looking for. I have talked to several single people who have booked with Saga over the years and have been very happy with the experience. It helps if you are naturally a sociable person. I have been on several holidays when I was single, and soon found people to talk to. They weren't Saga holidays but it doesn't matter. If you are prepared to make an effort, you will get on with anyone.0

I travelled to China with SAGA last May on an 11 day singles holiday. Everything was well organised and there were no real issues. Everyone got along fine - we were all 50+ and probably ++ in most cases as the eldest was 80 and I was 67 at the time. We flew to Beijing by BA and flew back from Shanghai. I would do it again. I'm not single but my wife isn't up for long-haul travel. The pick-up from home option was excellent and did away with the worry of parking etc..0
