Hi
could some one help
i switched accounts to hsbc on the basis of the 240 incentive, and they are paying out fine £10 a month on the isa.
has anyone however got the t and c's for the incentive for the £120 for the advance account?
i cant recall on the mse wesbite where it actually says you have to fund the account monthly with £1750 to qualify for the £120 on the advance account, but i guess im wrong?
many thanks in advance.0 -
To get the £10 per month, you need to hold a Loyalty Advanced ISA. For the Loyalty ISA to be advanced, you need to hold an Advance Account. For you to keep the Advance Account, you need to fund it monthly with £1750 (or £10500 every six months). If you don't fund the account for a few months (I believe two), they'll give you a warning to tell you, that you need to fund it to keep the Advance account otherwise they'll downgrade you to the Current Account.
For the £120 Account Opening deal (I'm not sure if that's still here, or what the amount is now), you just need to switch to HSBC and not have held a HSBC account in last few years (I think since 2012, but don't quote me on that). Once you've received the payment (some people have reported upto 3 months before they received it), you're free to stop funding it and have it downgrade to a current account, or even to switch away, with no fear of them trying to take that money back.0 -
thanks krash
i only opened both advance and isa a few months ago.
i did fund the current acc with 1750 but i stopped a whiel ago.
do you know if they will honour the £120 if you catch up with the funding after a break, on the basis that £10500 every 6 months is ok?0 -
My understanding is that if you don't fund the a/c with £1750 per month then your a/c will be downgraded from Advance and you will no longer receive the £10 pm into the ISA.
The switch incentive was paid just over 2 months after I switched.
I am keeping my account running because the monthly saver is good news @ 6%- better than anyone else.
If you need the money elsewhere do you realise that it only needs to touch base- it can come virtually straight out to fulfil the conditions?Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I recall seeing £10,500 paid in in 6 months being said or written somewhere so maybe aim to cover any short fall of that, i will try & find it in print- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

As long as it's not already been downgraded, you should be fine to catch up on the payments. Just put in £1000, take it out and put it into another banks account, and then transfer it back a few days later and instantly back to the main account to cycle your money. Do this a few times, and you'll make up the requirements like it was needed.0
