HSBC's New £120 Switch Offer
Comments
-
My qualifying (lump sum) was paid in on 9th March. Save together £10 credited as follows:
27th April
15th May
12th June
20th July
13th August
so no (to me) discernible pattern
Do the save together payments count as interest or a capital deposit? If it is a capital deposit then I would be tied to using as HSBCs ISA next tax year when I can get a better rate elsewhere.
Edit: I have just read the T&Cs and it says they are interest payments...

I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.0 -
They definitely do not count as capital deposits, but are treated like interest0

Did you get £25 for getting the credit card? I read on here this was offered to a few people.
I was told that I should get the £25 if I spent £50+ on the card. I'm not sure if the balance transfer counts or whether I still need to buy something for more than £50?Pay off all your debts by Christmas 2025 no. 15 £0/69490 -
my payment are as follows
3rd March - £300
27th March - Interest
27th April - Interest
29th April - Save Together
13th May - Save Together
27th May - Interest
12th June - Save Together
29th June - Interest
13th July - Save Together
27th July - Interest
12th August - Save Together.
So I would expect my interest to be paid 27th August and my next save together payment on the 14th September.
I think my payments are regular and have a pattern, but I suppose it depends on when you make the payments, as you need to wait for a month after payment, if you pay by monthly payments and you pay £25 at the end of the month, you will find that your save together payments are earlier in the following month.
going by my pattern I funded my account on the 3rd and this has created a interest payment at then end of the month and the save together payment two weeks later, give or take the bank holidays and weekends the fluctuation on the dates are due to weekends as I'm sure that it would be the 27th and the 12th of the monthI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. "The Offer Period is 2 July until 7 August. Any HSBC Credit
Card applications received after this date will not qualify for the
offer."
I was advised by HSBC on the phone a couple of days ago that the £25 offer is available.0 -
I was told that I should get the £25 if I spent £50+ on the card.
The bonus is right but there's no £50 threshold.
The HSBC branch advisor I saw was keen to get me to take a credit card and was very up-front about the £25 offer. I applied on the spot (in mid-July) and used the card immediately on receipt on July 18th twice for purchases totalling just over £10. The £25 bonus was credited to my HSBC current account on Aug 12th.0 -
Just an update from me - after being rejected for this account I submitted an SAR which arrived yesterday.
There are reams of paper, most of which are substantially blank and a lot of which are lists of codes and the meaning of them.
After raking through I find one little gem - seems I wasn't eligible for a £3K overdraft and therefore rejected. Given that I hadn't asked for, do no need and never discussed with the telephone agent an overdraft it's odd. However, given what is being written here about their inefficiencies in customer support perhaps it's best I keep my monies in the other accounts I hold.0 -
My switch date has been set for next week.
Will the money from the switch count towards towards the monthly income requirement?0 -
I have received the application paperwork which needs to be returned to HSBC. There was no pre paid envelope with the letter, the letter says 'send these documents to 40-02-00 Coventry DSC.'
Does anyone know what the address was on the envelope?
40-02-00 Coventry DSC seems strange for an address.0
