all a bit peculiar with my HSBC application in that when i phoned to enquire about my card, they said i had to pick it up in branch, I said can't it be sent to me..she said no we need ID to give you your card, then today my card arrives at my home address, so what's going on? do i activate this card, I can't activate it yet online because i do not have a secure key, or go in a weeks time to branch to collect the card that she said will be there for collection? What she should have said is wait a few more days, you should receive one in the post perhaps? will this card be valid to use now or do I still need to go and pick up other card in branch?0

I applied today for the Advance Account & used the 7 day switching service to close my account on the 11th.
Everything went smoothly, I was offered an Overdraft & a Credit Card that came with a 25 pound bribe.
HSBC's Internet banking looks a lot better than Lloyds so really happy.
I've just got one question.
Next year I wish to open a Help to Buy ISA, if I pay in the £300 & HSBC pays in £10 a month till August next year, will that be counted as paying into next year's ISA limit?0 -

The £10 payments, as with any interest, do not count as ISA subscriptions. So from 6th April 2016 you can pay into a new Help to Buy cash ISA and still have the £10 payments coming into your HSBC ISA.0 -

I find HSBC Internet banking only marginally better than FD, M&S, the Coop and YB/CB. All of which are just slightly better than ghastly. Mind you, they all let you receive money and make payments, which is the important thing.0 -
Thanks a lot Ed-10

I planned to leave £1 in there and the othere £299 go in a 6% reg saver.
are you sure the £300 doesn't have to be in the ISA for the full twelve months to get the £10 per month added?0
