Amazon CD-R on demand

Hi all,
Bought an album from my youth on Amazon the other day, new, full price.
It arrived yesterday and was a cd-r burned by Amazon, with the album cover printed out - just the cover, no liner notes, the front cover was surrounded by a border a bit like the budget PS3 games etc, the rear cover and cd was just generic printed, none of the albums design on it.
It's going back as I wasn't told it wasn't going to be a proper pressed cd, I'm not spending full price on a (albeit legal) copy, I may as well download from iTunes for half the price and burn it myself onto a disc I know is good quality.
Anyone else had one of these? Do they use good quality discs? Are they guaranteed to take from a cd source or lower quality MP3?
It's good if you can get stuff on disc that otherwise you can't (or for indies to release cheaply) I guess, maybe I'm stuck in the past!

Is My Youth the name of the seller or is it the name of the group please?
i.e. was it Fullfilled by Amazon, bought from Amazon or bought from a seller direct through Amazon?"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

Sorry, I meant it was from my youth as in when I was young (ie an old fave album). Was sold by Amazon and fulfilled by Amazon. Reading up since receipt they have deals with labels to produce old albums by cd-r but it's not stated (at least on the one I bought) that it was a cd-r, not a "proper" copy.0

What album was it please? Just so I can look and see if there is anything I should be looking for if I buy a CD from them, mind you I'm more likely to use Spotify Free than buying a Cd nowadays x"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

Queenriderbrekke-
I got-

Also here that looks to be the original cd from marketplace sellers-
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nurse-Therapy/dp/B000008LIW/ref=ntt_mus_ep_dpi_1
The one I bought also includes auto rip MP3 version which the marketplace version doesn't, but that's normal I think (direct Amazon purchases usually include autorip).
Only diff I can see is the year of release (but I could have been getting a reissue) and the label (nothing unusual there though).
My cd-r copy had a bar code on it with manufactured by Amazon.de above it.0 -
Thanks for letting us know, I can't see any indication that it would have been a Amazon copy either x"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

Amazon have been doing "On-Demand" CD-R pressings from their .com/US site for a while , but I havent heard anything before about them doing it in the UK . And as you say , if you arent getting a proper CD then they should say so.
For example see -
http://www.amazon.com/Balletic-Transcend-Billy-Currie/dp/B00GNNCGP0
even then , the bit about CD-R isn't greatly highlighted0
