Thanks Ziggy & Bob for the birthday wishes. I must admit to giving my mum & dad the biggest, longest hug ever when they arrived

Shame about the pic Ziggy, and thanks I will have a look at the competition

Hope you feel better tomorrow Foxgloves xx
Glad your parents are safe Hannah, and happy birthday :bdaycake:
So sad for the people who were killed or injured, and their families, and of course your parents' friends in Tunisia
:T Good news on the washing machine Maria. My old Bosch is about 13 years old now, and I am not looking forward to the time when it eventually goes, if your experiences of new machines are anything to go by :eek:0 -

Morning guys - been up for an hour as madam decided to call very loudly that she needed a wee wee (an hour on and still no sign....)
1HANNAH happy birthday for yesterday. Hope your day turned out fun
foxgloves hope you perk up today
Am still feeling very weird/down about the events of this week. I oscillate between being upset about my job/my mum dying/and worry about the impact on my dd. My dd was close to my mum and she provided her with a bolt hole to go to over the last few years (I wasn't am now having to come to terms with her dying, not having mended our fractured relationship and all the things of my childhood). Hoping this mood lifts soon
Small things of today:
* will check banking
* going to withdraw £20 for the week
* B/T from stores
* going out for sunday dinner as we have a £10 gift voucher from when I complained and £15 in change in bowl so should be "free" :T
* Going to go to the bootfair and get a couple of plants, will also stop and get some compost and seeds (garden look great after gardener has leveled ground and laid turf :j) Have dug over a flower bed and am going to turn it into a veg patch. It's about 1 x .5 meters
* vacuum & mop downstairs floors. Must do this today!
* continue reading my book
* going to an event at a park in town. It's free but will probably buy a drink so hopefully not more than £5
* Look through job applications I have and work out which ones I want to apply for and when they need to be done by
Ok think that's all I will/have time to do. Hope everyone has a lovely day xDF as at 30/12/16

Morning all, I can't believe I'm awake at this time on a Sunday morning but have already been up for an hour, most unlike me

We didn't spend our vouchers on Friday night as the glazier was here so we spent them last night instead in the town where eldest stepson was playing a gig and then went to watch him afterwards.
Yesterday we went shopping and had McDs but kept the price down by ordering one large meal and sharing the drink and fries and then just another burger. We bought some paint and some bedding plants for the back garden, one pack at full price and another 6 pack for 50p as two of the plants were dead but I only needed 4 anyway.
We also went to the £1 shop and bought all the toiletries etc we needed plus masking tape (for the painting), some sink unblocker as the sink is very smelly and some hair dye but I'm undecided whether I'm going to use it. All my gray hairs are concentrated in one place on the edge of my hairline and, when my hair is down, it just looks like one white streak which I kind of like (the rest of my hair is brown) however it looks awful if I tie it up which I am doing a lot in the hot weather.
Today I'm planning on taking the hebes which have very much outgrown the window boxes and planting them under the window in the front garden then will plant up the window boxes plus two hanging baskets with the new bedding plants. I have a pack of night scented stock seeds so I will sow some of those in the window box too.
I need to arrange a Mr T delivery for tomorrow as stocks are running low. I've taken the last three almond croissants out of the freezer for today but I will pop to Mr S about an hour before closing today to replenish and dinner tonight will probably be whatever they have on the reduced section.
Have a lovely day all

Morning everyone
determined hugs, enjoy your Sunday lunch.
More shredding/filing/decluttering today. Not strictly Moneysaving but it is keeping me busy and encouraging me not to spend money. Quite a lot of the rooms in our house need decorating/new flooring/money spending on them and it is quite depressing. I suppose at least if they are tidy and uncluttered that's something.0
