Money gone from account

I had money stolen from my account a few months ago, over 3K, Nationwide refunded the money within 3 days and that was the end of the matter.
I was just annoyed that they didnt investigate it fully, i asked what they did and they said that they see if details are stolen in the same post code area then investigate but dont investigate every case0 -
I think every case should be investigated, however small or large. Thats like telling the culprit, its ok this time, but one day you will do this too many times and we will have to prosecute you.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

It seems the same as when the police decide not to pursue a case because the cost of bringing a conviction outweighs the value of the damage done -I think it is inherantly wrong to allow someone to 'get away' with something in this way.
Don't get me wrong - I totally understand why the police have to prioritise their funding, and that banks would rather lose 3k than spend 5k investigating, but it makes my blood boil that these costs will ultimately be passed on to every law-abiding honest person who uses the services, and the people who have benefitted from the crime don't even have to worry about being caught, even when they have done something as blatantly stupid as paying their phone bil with someone else's card!0
