How to get mould off wallpaper?

Hello all,

Does anyone have any idea how to get mould off wallpaper in a bathroom? We have wallpaper in the bathroom which is not mould or condensation resistant and there is mould on it. Does anyone know how to get if off or some kind of paint to put on it to get rid of it?

Hope someone can help.

The wallpaper is a white colour.

HG Mould Spray works a treat for removal, but you'll need to fix the cause to stop it coming back.

Yes tried that but would rather a paint to go over the top of it instead. Can you recommend one?

You can paint wallpaper with most paints. I just used a vinyl emulsion. You can use a bathroom paint that is supposed to resist mould, it helps but it does not work 100%.
Just make sure the paper is properly stuck down. If it's peeling and in a damp prone place, use PVA glue instead of wallpaper paste.

It works in my house, but the mould comes back occasionally as I have an old house with all sorts of not cheap to fix problems. But Astonish mould and mildew cleaner at 99p works a treat.

Thanks, I am concerned about how to get the mould off the wallpaper as the wallpaper is just paper, its not mould resistant and by rubbing it with a cloth it may take off some of the wallpaper with it?

I used a mould and mildew cleaner on mine and it did not bleach the paper or ruin it. I would suggest dabbing it and letting the cleaner do the work.

Thanks, I tried that but it took off the wallpaper, the mould was pretty bad though. Not sure what to do now?
