Today was almost a no spend day, afraid I succumbed to a reduced pack of strawberries for dessert. Smack hand!!
The Council still have not taken the rent for July, not a happy bunny really its time they sorted themselves out. Out account will show ini arrears and its not our fault.
At last OH made an appointment to get a new dental plate, his old one keeps coming out, not a happy sight when he is eating his supper. Another expense I have to fork out for. I did ask if they ran a payment account, no and you have to pay up front!!0 -
Oh dear things no going well. We are struggling for freezer space in our Fridge freezer, so I have had to shell out for an under counter freezer, it will have to sit in me sewing room covered with a cloth, I will possibly use the top as an extra cutting surface.
So the debt has gone up by £140........aarrgghhhh...........0 -
We have the freezer and its switched on, I have taken all the meat bread and milk out of the kitchen freezer and is in the new freezer.
I got really hacked off on Wednesday with not hearing from the council, got OH to phone, at last we have been told they will start taking money for the rent from 1st August, I just hope they have the amount correct.
I have sorted out what is going to be paid to the 3 CC's next month. I am still trying to find a 0% to transfer two of the cards to.
AS far as bills are concerned I just have to sort out getting the new fire grate fitted properly and also get fuel at the summer price. The car service will be paid for from the car account. I have just paid for the insurance through quidco. Once the cash back comes in I will be paying it off one of the cards.0 -
Woo Hoo a no spend day yesterday and today. OH was playing bowls today, so out just after 10.30 and arrived home at 4.15pm. Could not go out as he had the car, so nothing spent.
I have worked through the bills and the Tesco CC will be cleared in September, still looking for 0% card for the other two, need 12 - 15 months 0%.
Had a letter from Lloyds yesterday they have put my credit limit up by £500.....I will be phoning them and telling them no thanks.0 -
Well, I have had a letter from one of our CC's offering me a 15 month interest free transfer. I need to talk to therm, its a bit complicated. basically I have some dosh still on that card which I can move to another card interest free for 6 months, not too sure how to go about it though. Needs thinking about. In any case I will have paid everything off by the end of the year if all goes to plan.
Shopping done at Lidl last week, just need a few things from Morrison's which I could not get at Lidl and then fruit and veg for the rest of August. Out for Sunday lunch next week so that will save a bit.
I cut 2 stems of lilies yesterday, the scent in the sitting room is gorgeous. I do love the smell.
Sun is trying hard to break through, no laundry though.0 -
Well I have shifted sll but £200 onto a 0% card for 15 months. I now need to shift money from another card to my Lloyds card at 0% for 6 months. At that rate all the money I had to lay out will have been paid back in 7 months, so by March next year all the cards will be clear and apart from my Tesco card which I use for fuel, the other cards will be cut up and the accounts closed.
The council have at last sorted out our rent and the first paayment has been made along with our first coincil tax payment.
I have had £70 back from SSE overpayment of gas and electric and £11 from Plusnet because we had problems with our telephone and internet. So money coming in allows me to put up what I pay to the cards each month.
I have to order coal and logs for the fire. I also have to get the fire cement and rope for the grate to be installed, then we will be set up for the winter.0 -
The transfer of £1200 has gone through, have just paid £200 off my Lloyds card, so I can now transfer the £1049 to the Lloyds card from the PO card. Complicated I know, but I do know what I am doing. all the debt is at 0%. The Lloyds card needs to be paid off quickest, will be clear by Feb, the PO is for 15 months but should be clear in March.
The T***o card is for fuel and will get paid at the end of each month as usual. I budget £30 a month for fuel so just transfer the cash over and clear the card.
We have to have an outside tap fitted, just debating whether it is worth putting it off until next spring, as we are almost at the end of the watering season.......will speak to OH and see what he says. We just need the fir grate fitted, need to get some fire rope and the job can be done. Once thats done its austerity all the way till the debt is paid off.0 -
All CC's are now on 0%, should be cleared by March next year unless I win the lottery. Doubtful as I do not do it!!
I have to rein in OH and get him to just spend his pocket money and not put stuff on the CC. I just have my Visa Debit card in my purse now. I have splashed out and booked a holiday for next April. I have paid the deposit, balance to be paid at the end of Feb, so the holiday account will come into play again.0 -
Not posted for a bit, was waiting for the money situation to sort itself out. We now know what rent and council tax we have to pay and I know how much I can shovel into the two debts.
September is the start £200 each to the two CC one is 6 months at 0%, the other 15 months at 0%. One will finish early in the new year, then all £400 will go against the slightly bigger debt and it will be gone by Easter if my calculations are correct. I cannot wait..........
No problems over Christmas, years ago we told the children to spend the money they would have spent on us on their children. We have everything we need. They usually bought us wine, biscuits or chocolate, so thats fine. I buy one box of chocolates, when they are gone, thats it. A couple of bottles of Bucks Fizz would find their way into my shopping basket for the holiday, apart from the cheapie version of Baileys thats it . I manage those out of my housekeeping money.
The last 2 years we have had my youngest daughter for lunch on Christmas day, but this year we are going to her. I have said I will buy the turkey, so she just has to get what ever else.0 -
All was going well till I got my Mr T cc statement OH appears to have been having a ball with it. mostly spent on the garden, its the only card I use when filling up with diesel.........so have had to have a re-gig......will post in my signature when its sorted, means my CCdebt free date will be put back at least 2 if not 3 months.....ggrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Mind you I put fuel in my car yesterday, but I always pay off that each month. I also spent in order to save if that makes sense. I bought fire bricks for the fireplace, so we use less coal and wood. We do need to have a couple of really hard fires to warm the chimney, I do not think its been used for quite a while. We also have to wait for the council to come and sort out the carbon monoxide monitor too and possibly put on a new chimney pot, the fire is not drawing too well just now.
