Why not get rid of the pets to someone who can afford to keep them?

Debt or no debt, you can't just 'give up' pets! That's like 'giving up' a child. I would feed my dog (and my child!) and go without myself if I had to.

get rid of cat and dog   - one word CRANK !!!!

would you get rid of your kids if costing you £25pm ((unbelievable))
have you ever owned a pet !!!!(sorry family member)

and yes stopped paying into Ing acc
tried to cancel gym but either want £100 to get out of contact or the £39pm so cancelled the direct debit to see what they do.
lottery has stopped (( so has the chance of being a overnight millionaire) )

Havent been food shopping since the couple of days after my post (( so think doing pretty well there.!!))

by the way my 2nd job now takes me to over 70 hrs a wk .... so you still think my light bulb moment hasnt come..

and yes kept sky + because while im working my 70+hrs on my time off i would to catch up on the tv programs missed so saving on going out and film rentals etc and for £15pm while earning an extra £400 on top of my main job i feel I can justify the £3.75pw while not buying any lunches or taking money to work etc( this is my only luxury )and when i get in at 3 in the morning i want to watch something i enjoy to wind down.

By the way never have been able to recieve any benefits and still cant - always worked and paid my taxes but couples who earn and dont have kids get knowt !

tried to sell my car privately but not enought to cover the car finace (will be handing it back in 1 and half yrs when half way through) til then either sell at a loss and have to find money for another or wait til can give back and buy banger.

my bulbs are energy saving and switch tv etc off (not in standby).

Oh and due to pay off the barclays cc next wk £260

Personally I'd rather feed my child to my dog:p .

Only joking - should be taken as seriously as the suggestion you can just "give up" your pets.

    :hello: Bye bye Barclaycard!

I must agree with ur point about Sky+.... yes it is a luxury, but we also kept ours.... cannot get a freeview reception here for love nor money, and OH works nights so he watches all his progs in the mornings or on his day off... stops him going out on the  (unfortunately HIS lightbulb is a bit intermittent!)

My DS has just started teething, and everything goes into his mouth, so its more likely that my child will eat my dog :p

Thanks for the support of not giving up your pets ((or even eating them ))
I can only presume the poster never had pets - or has had a bad experience with them!!!

and also for the support of keeping sky + at £15pm yes I could do without it - it only telly but I know I would either spend more taking a bottle of wine/diet coke/petrol to friends houses...... but i have really thought about what my expenses would be if i gave it up - so everyone who thinks straight away give it up -it does depend of the extra costs that you would incur ( and this is the only thing - although have reduced it would cost me more to give up ) and I have my anti social moments  :j

    so go sky +
