Looking to get into coding and I am interested in the tools/sites/extensions/programs/social media/blogs that are essential to you, as a coder/programmer.
Here are one or two I have come across so far and examples:
Applications - Notepad++, Winmerge
Chrome/Firefox Extensions - What Font, Eye Dropper
Learning Resources - Lynda.com, Udemy, CodeSchool
Forums - http://www.warriorforum.com/programming/
Websites/Blogs - Mashable
Will hopefully be a good resource for new tools to try and for newbies to look at.
Please list your favs, Thankyou

It depends what im working on really.
for iOS, i would be using XCode,
for android it'll be Eclipse
and for most other things i will be using Visual Studio.
Main resource i use would be StackExchange. plus the main sites of what ever API im using at the time.
A large amount of screen space is also useful, large resolution displays + multiple monitors0 -
My main editor of choice is Vi but only because it's on every *nix box on the planet by default.
For Windows I use Notepad++ a lot of the younger programers use Notepad++ for the *nix then upload the file to the server rather than learn how to use Vi. It's a personal choice.
On my Linux box at home I used Gedit and Vi.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Nearly every StackExchange post I have seen has had a "warning" or been closed.0
