  • Unfortunately the plans are no available online, I assume because the current owners have been there 50+ years.

Then the next step is to compare the physical boundary (ie where the fences etc) with the Plan.

And to talk to the neighbours and ask where they believe their boundary is. Show them the Plan you have.

You should always talk to the neighbours before buying property anyway.

    Dave,

I had thought that, but the plan also shows the building next door, so must have been drawn up after that had been built. I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

    :o Sorry, I wasn't thinking straight, was I?

Whoever drew the red line may have made a mistake. It also seems to imply that this property owns a tiny bit of No 62, which would be a mistake.....unless that happens to be an outhouse attached to 62.
  • Mistakes are possible - as, according to that "red lines" thing - I assume a mistake has been made on mine. Because if it hasn't - then I might own a neighbours house as well as my own house apparently(subject to not having "adverse possession" done on it).

    I'm presuming I don't:cool:....

It is an outhouse which we (will) own part of. It has now been extended so the main property is joined to the outhouse.

Ah, I did wonder. I suppose that reduces the chance that the person doing the 'red-lining' was careless.

Accuracy in these matters is important, but mistakes do happen, both in title plans and in text. We needed the text and the plan altered before we could purchase our house.
