16 Year Old Mother Entitled to Benefit???

HI, i wonder can anyone help.

My sister's stepdaughter is 16 and had a baby in April, and was planning on starting college in September.

Now she has decided she is not going to go to college, so in 3 weeks my sister will lose the £60+ benefit she gets for her.

Will her stepdaughter be able to claim any benefit because she is a mother?

She says she will get a job, if only it was that easy!

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

Your sister's stepdaughter should be eligible for Child Benefit, Child Tax Credits & if she doesn't work lncome Support & Healthy Start Vouchers. She would also be eligible for an Exemption Certificate for help with prescription cost's. If she did work, she may be eligible for Working Tax Credits (depending on level of income).
