Upgrading a Tomtom One

Hi

Is anyone able to give me a bit of advice on updating a tomtom one sat nav (the original one)

I need to upgrade the maps on it as it misses of some of the new roads (such as the barnstaple bypass) as well as others.

Tomtom want £40 for it - can i do it cheaper, or even better, FREE?!?

Cheers In advance
Jake :D

    Not if you want:

    A) To do it legally

    B) If you want it to work.

  • Try taking a look around https://www.pocketgpsworld.co.uk. It is a GPS/Sat Nav forum where you can register and ask. Also there are a lot of advertisers who will probably supply at a better price.

My main point was to ensure you bought an original TT product. Do not get seduced into buying a copy off ebay. At best you will get something that won't work, or worse something that will potentially damage your hardware.

    Good luck!

Barnstaple bypass has only been open a couple of months. It will be some time yet before that road finds its way in!

Yes, it could easily be well into next year before any commercial navigation device includes a road that new.
