Plastering walls before fitting kitchen units - advice please!

Hi,
We have just had our kitchen plastered, and I have a couple of questions:

1. Can you fit a kitchen (base and wall units) the very next day after the room has been plastered?

2. Is it advisable to paint or seal the plaster first, or can the units go directly onto bare plaster?
thanks for any advice :)

Was it plastered or just skimmed (over existing plaster or plaster board) the former then wait to fit or paint the latter is should be fine. You don't need to paint first but it might be easier to ie you throw the paint at the ceiling with a roller without covering your new shiny kitchen.

Thanks. Some of the wall was fully plastered and part of it just skimmed. It was done today and the kitchen fitters are meant to be starting tomorrow. I don't know what to do when they arrive tomorrow morning ready to start fitting!

For my second question, I meant: can the units be fitted over bare plaster, or should the part of the wall which will be behind the cupboards be sealed first?

i would be concerned about attaching new wooden carcasses to damp plaster.

Chipboard carcasses WILL blow if in direct contact with non-dry areas of plaster.

I'm sure they can find other things to do while it dries out, or is the whole room still wet?

And there's no need to 'seal' plaster to fit a kitchen.

They have said it is ok to do some parts of it today, and will do the rest next week. Fingers crossed.
