Has anyone used Anglian Windows?
If so, how would you rate them?
I'm thinking about using them but am put off by the mixed reviews on the net.
Thanks.

Have you received any other quotes for the work, from a local business?0

I'm still waiting for a several more to get back but so far, of all the 'known' Fenstre registered companies that have gotten back (including local companies), Anglian are the cheapest.
I'm just worried about their reputation.0 -
We have anglian windows, never had any problems with them, a couple of years after the windows were put in, a few handles stuck and wouldnt open, rang them up, came out within a few days, fixed said windows, always been happy with the service.0

That's reassuring Sarahdol75. Thank you.0

Also had them. Windows are decent quality, installers were excellent, though ,as with any large company, there is an element of luck with that..
Sales tactics are neanderthal though....got a good deal off them in the end but jeez it was painful.0 -
I would not touch them with a barge pole. I have not recently checked their quality but last year they were still lagging behind and producing obsolete windows. There are better products available and certainly a better standard of installation.
Remember that regardless of the price you will still be paying all the Anglian overheads and commissions. The sales force has to be paid for. Hence if they offer the cheapest price either corners are being cut or you are not receiving genuine quotes. And do not believe that all quotes are genuine - funny things happen in the double glazing market. Read into that what you will but this is the case.0 -
Have you had bad experiences with Anglian yourself Furts?0

Yes. I have checked them out in the past and they fail to come up to standard. I have also challenged them at trade shows about their quality, prices and sales tactics. I have never received satisfactory responses.
Any company that claims to be producing windows solely for it's own installation, and produces obsolete standards, and is hazy about it's quality and accreditation should be treated with caution.
I maintain that people should buy their windows from one of the super manufacturers - there are a number of competing factories located around the country. For example, IIRR, one in Pembroke, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Devon...etc. These windows are available through the trade and tick all the boxes. It is then simply a matter of fine checking the components and guarantees.0 -
Thanks for that Furts.
In addition to the info you have given, which window installation companies would you recommend?0 -
It will be better if you could go through a lot of review sites before selecting a dealer. You should contact a few number of companies for estimate. Then compare prices and the services they offer. I selected my window contractor from a huge number of ontario windows and door companies with the help of ontario window reviews.0
