Well Rik knows me in real life, so he'll already know what I think, but for the benefit of others... :D

I've just moved with my partner, child (3) and business to one of the 'old' parts of Skem - a quiet dead-end road of bungalows, with big gardens and attached garages.

I honestly moved here for convenience - more than one of my suppliers is here, and the transport links for cars are excellent (I drive everywhere, and make frequent deliveries to Wales / Liverpool etc).

So far, it's been nothing short of amazing - I'd even use the word 'idyllic' to a limited extent. I'm sat in my sun-bathed garden, there's no noise at all, room for all 3 cars and best of all, there's plenty of local shops etc.
The houses are usually of a good quality, and all my neighbours are lovely.

That being said, if you walk a mile down the road in the wrong direction, it does get a bit 'stabby'!

So far, 2 of my friends have followed my lead and are planning to move, or already moving into Skem after seeing my area, and the job opportunities etc here.

    I'm impressed. :)

Holiday Haggler I've been Money Tipped!
Taking Milton Keynes as an example, I struggle to find anything positive to say. It's a boring drive round and people must live the life of Sim City.

And don't get me started on the roundabouts.

Milton Keynes does have a grid USA system but quite frankly it's a soulless hole of a place and sadly the people I see wandering about look like the type to plod along

Milton Keynes has more green space per head of population than any other large town. It is the prettiest and greenest place I have ever lived. It has amazing shops, and restaurants and a vibrant culture quarter. It should be a city and came in the Top 50 places to live by the Sunday Times (It was number 39)

Well hello there Matt. Long time no see!

I'll be on Eskbank which is just south of the Connie. Hopefully it'll be a viable investment as not only is it a decent house for us to live in, it's near the town centre which is about to be redeveloped with restaurants, shops and a cinema.

Sadly I don't have a garage as they're still council owned. I will be sticking myself on the waiting list for the one at the back of my house.

    Rik.

You must own a car, because doing anything interesting requires going somewhere else.

Yes I've got that covered as I already have to commute to work anyway. Hopefully the new town centre won't take too long to come around.

I wouldn't recommend Bracknell, although its long promised redevelopment is apparently now underway...
