Proof of Income from HMRC for Mortgage Application?

Am I correct in thinking I need SA02 forms, detailing my income from my self assessment submissions?

I want to apply for a mortgage shortly so need proof of income.

I've written to the HMRC requesting the relevant documents, but that was over 3 weeks ago and I haven't received anything yet, and needless to say I can't get through to them on the phone

Can anyone advise, what I need and if I can get this from my online MHRC self assessment account?

TIA

Lottie

The SA032 self assessment tax calculation form provided by HMRC (based on your tax returns) is the generally accepted standard proof of self employed taxable earnings / income.

Accounts, Accountant's Certificate, Posted/Faxed SA302s with covering letter, online SA302s & Tax Overview.

These are all possible, depending on lender concerned.

    Thanks Kingstreet.

I'm a small sole trader (this is in addition to a FT PAYE role) so don't have an accountant, and my "accounts" are just some excel documents and poly pockets full of receipts! (Last years profit was about 6k)

I've looked online and can see my tax year overview, but all it details is the tax I paid. Not my income? Can't se how to get an SA302, if anyone can help?

you must get the SA302 thorugh the HMRC Self assessment telephone number.

Bare in mind it takes up to 15 working days. Took 1 week for mine.

It was nearly 2 years ago, but fairly sure my accountant got them back the same day.

Does depend on the lender. Due to my personal tax / company tax confusing the first lender, I then got a broker who applied with Barclays/Woolwich and all they wanted was the SA302s. Nothing else. All done in no time.
