My hoover broke this morning- it was giving off an awful burning smell. I remembered that when we brought the hoover we paid for an extended 5 year warranty. I was expecting it to have expired in july knowing my luck!! However, when i found the paperwork i was pleased to see that there was a few months remaining.
My husband rang the number whilst i was cooking lunch and was transferred to the relevant department. I could see him in the other room trying to dismantle the hoover and continue the phone conversation at the same time. It looked as though the person on the phone was instructing him on how to carryout the repair! I thought this was abit rubbish- after all we had paid for extra warranty.
When hubby passed the phone to me to relay instructions the dyson lady explained that she had asked hubby to do this to see if the burning smell was the rubber belt or the motor. Fortunately it wasn't the motor. The dyson lady said that she would send out replacement belts, roller brush and cyclone. I said that i had been meaning to ring and order a replacement brush attatchment- could i pay for one and include it with the parcel? She said no problem- she'll send one for free and 2 new hoses as well!! :T
